Fusing high modernist sensibilities and low craft resourcefulness I fuse full-scale taxidermy busts and hand sculpted glass horns to create a seamless marriage of kitsch and quaintness. Deceptively accurate to the untrained eye, the heads and the horns are from uniquely different species. Part fantasy, part sincere desire, I imagine the infinite possibilities of improbable animal breeds. It is the allure that attracts me to this fantastical object making. The text accompanying the busts reveals a fabricated description justifying these ancient beings relevance… “developing glass antlers from grazing in pastures latent with silica deposits.”
